16 Creative Horizontal Scrolling Websites

Web designers in general are keeping their websites fully stretched or centered with a fixed width. It’s something we got used to, seeing the content without having to scroll horizontally. It’s easy to read and search the website for usefull information.

But we also know that, from time to time, web designers are getting more creative than we would expect and push the limits of webdesign, as shown in some amazing posts here, on Direct Pixel Magazine.

I just stumbled upon a bunch of websites that do just what the title says, scroll horizontally. Against my prior beliefs, it’s amazing how natural it can be to browse an horizontal page rather than a vertical one, when the design and controls are all in the right place.

Most of these are portfolios and I’m seriously thinking that I should try building an horizontal scrolling website, check them out!
